Cylindrical Bearings – The Best Way to Reduce Friction and Increase Efficiency

Though friction is an inevitable phenomenon in our life, as it helps us to stand and walk smoothly and help to do many other activities, in some cases it has to be controlled for smooth functioning. For instance, when it comes to machinery friction must be reduced between two moving parts for the smooth working of machines. Moreover, as we all know friction generates heat and many times it may affect adversely and has to controlled.

To control both friction and temperature, a lubricant like oil or grease is used. Yet in many applications internal application of lubricant is not possible. Here the industries use bearings to reduce friction and temperature while movement.

Cylindrical Bearings- Application and Significance

From the time bearings were invented, a plethora of bearings were coming into existence to suit different applications. One among them are the cylindrical bearings. They are used to handle radial loads with a lots of thrust. Basically bearings are made of two types such as alloy steel and low carbon steel.

Being highly durable and offer strength to roller rings alloy steel cylindrical bearings are used widely in industries and applications than the low carbon steel. But when both carbon and alloy steel are used tighter that ensures perfect support and resistance for any kind of tough applications. Apart from different materials they manufactured, cylindrical bearing is available in
  • Single row cylindrical bearings
  • Double row cylindrical bearings
  • Four rows cylindrical bearing
Designed to handle enough load capacities and radial loads these bearings consists of cylindrically shaped rollers. They are effective when it comes to accuracy level tolerance range.

On the other hand, spherical bearings are dynamic, versatile and has very low friction for this reason spherical plain bearings are called as the anti-friction bearing and are widely used in machineries and has its own significance. They are majorly used in shafts of vehicle like four wheelers where it permits angular rotation at two right angled directions on a central point.

Spherical plain bearing has the ability to correct misalignment and hence they are used in shaft or rods. This is possible by inner ring present in the bearing that move rotationally at a specific required angle which enables smooth and perfect rotation. Spherical bearings are available in conventional steel, plastic, or bronze plain bearings and offer superior performance too.

In this modern era, machines gained prominence and bearing have an inevitable part of it. So, choose the right suitable bearing for your machinery as it is very tough to visualize a machine without bearing. Since Cylindrical Bearing deals with movement reduces friction get expert advice before you buy this important part of machinery.
